How Often Should You Clean the Office Each Week?
There’s no single answer. It depends on your office
“How many times a week do we need to clean?” is the question we hear most often at CleanTeam. And the honest answer? It depends. A 5-person office where everyone works from home three days a week is nothing like an open space of 80 people with a busy kitchen. So instead of a generic answer, we put together a table that sorts it out.
Cleaning frequency table, by office size and type of activity
| Office size | Type of activity | Recommended frequency | + Deep clean |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 5 employees | Standard office | 1-2 times a week | Once a month |
| 5-15 employees | Standard office | 2-3 times a week | Once a month |
| 5-15 employees | Clinic / lab | Daily | Every two weeks |
| 15-50 employees | Hi-tech / open space | Daily | Once a month |
| 15-50 employees | Office with client reception | Daily | Every two weeks |
| 50+ employees | Any type | Daily (+ larger crew) | Weekly |
Note: a “deep clean” isn’t the same as routine cleaning. Routine = floors, dust, restrooms, bins. Deep = windows, carpets, upholstery, floor polishing, AC unit cleaning.
Signs you’re not cleaning enough
Sometimes you don’t need a table. You just need to look around. Here are a few signs your frequency is too low:
- An off smell in the morning, especially from the kitchen or restrooms. If you can smell yesterday first thing in the morning, something’s wrong.
- Overflowing bins. If the bins are full again before the next cleaning day, you’re not cleaning often enough.
- Visible dust on monitors, shelves, and fake plants. Dust piles up faster than people think.
- Employees complain, or worse, they don’t complain. They just get used to a low standard of cleanliness.
- Clients drop hints, even subtle ones. “It’s so… cozy in here” is sometimes a polite way of saying “not clean.”
Cost comparison: daily vs. 2-3 times a week
Here’s a surprise: the cost difference between daily cleaning and three times a week isn’t always as big as people assume. For a mid-size office (20-30 employees):
- 3 times a week: ~₪1,200-1,500/month
- Daily (5 times): ~₪1,800-2,200/month
The gap? ₪500-700 a month. Ask yourself which costs more: 600 shekels, or two days a week with an office that isn’t really clean.
CleanTeam: a plan built around your office
We don’t sell “one package for everyone.” Every office gets a cleaning plan matched to its exact size, field, and budget. And if a month in you find you need more (or less), we change it. No problem.
